An exceptionally elegant piece from one of London’s most underrated labels of the era. Cut in a fluid bias-style silhouette that hugs and falls beautifully through the body before opening subtly at the hem with soft godet-style shaping.
The crushed velvet finish gives the fabric a constantly shifting tone between faded graphite and deep oil-slick grey depending on movement and light. There’s a haunting glamour to it. Quietly dramatic without needing embellishment.
The asymmetric wrap construction creates movement throughout the skirt, revealing flashes of the contrasting pale underlayer as it walks. Very much in the world of late 90s London eveningwear, underground luxury and that slightly undone romanticism Voyage did so well.
